What are the safety rules for minimum blade heights?

We set out these rules in detail in a blog post available here: www.brasseurs-air-re2020.com/re2020-quelles-regles-de-hauteur-sous-pales/

RE2020 states that the model of ceiling fan used “is valid for ceiling heights of less than 3 m”, without explicitly mentioning a minimum height under the blades.

Standard NF EN CEI 60335-2-80 specifies that: “the installation instructions must indicate that the fan must be installed in such a way that the blades are more than 2.30 m above the ground”.

It is therefore advisable to take this constraint into account when choosing a ceiling fan that complies with the standard.

In new buildings with a standard ceiling height of 2.50 m, this means a maximum distance of 20 cm between the ceiling and the base of the blades.
